July School Update
We recently came to the end of DPTC July 2013 training and we praise God for giving us yet another opportunity for our pastors to be equipped for effective ministry.
In the first week of training, we expected Eric Miller to come and teach manuscript bible study but when he could not come because of health issues, I took over the class, teaching the Gospel of Mark. By the end of the week Pastors were surprised to learn how they could dig out the truth from the word of God using the inductive method. The acquired skills will help them study the Bible and prepare sermons, even though they lack other resources that are available to pastors elsewhere.
On Sunday we all traveled to Kitengela to visit the church of our pastor Anothony Ngaruiya. We got to experience a wonderful worship service, lunch, and then the pastors went out to conduct an open-air service on the streets of the city. Several came to know Christ as the pastors worshipped and preached the gospel to those traveling along the road.
In the second week of learning, the Pastors took two classes; The Doctrine of God taught by Peter and Church History taught by Mike Mwaka. As usual, the term came to an end with Pastors yearning for more and at the same time eager to go back to their ministries to put into practice all that they learnt.
We are so excited about the work that God is doing through Divine Providence and are so thankful for all of your prayers and support as we continue to train pastors to share the gospel of Christ across Kenya!
